
Dr Shelley Bourne
Dr Bourne has been working in general practice for over 10 years and has enjoyed building relationships within the Central Coast community.
Dr Bourne has diverse and thorough experience, having worked in both cities and remote Australia, gaining experience and advanced certification in skin cancer management, rural emergency care, women’s health, antenatal care and paediatric care.
Dr Bourne has multiple qualifications in skin cancer medicine and surgery, obtained through the University of Queensland, the Australian College of Cutaneous Oncology, and the Skin Cancer College of Australasia, she has experience in both simple and complex skin cancer surgery including flaps, grafts and wedge excisions, and is skilled in using dermoscopy to identify skin cancers. She occasionally assists plastic surgeons at Gosford private hospital and the SAN hospitals.
In addition to gaining her FRACGP, she has further training as listed:
-DCH Diploma in children’s health
-SHFPA sexual health and family planning Australia cert
-SCCA Accreditation (advanced cert skin cancer surgery and advanced cert dermoscopy SCCA, ACCO medicine and dermoscopy certs, University of QLD skin cancer medicine and surgery certs)
-APLS/EMST (trauma/emergency management qualifications)
-ADHD prescriber (NSW in conjunction with paediatrician/psychiatrist).
Shelley enjoys travelling, swimming and bushwalking and has two beautiful children and a kelpie who keep her very busy!
